Construction Jobs

The Toquop Energy Project will have a 4 year construction schedule. Over that time an average of 800 workers will be required to build the power plant and associated facilities. Construction will begin first quarter of 2009.


Bureau of Land Management Environmental Impact Statement

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) must approve the right of ways for the Toquop Energy project. The Bureau has determined that the approval of the lease and other aspects of the proposed project is a major Federal action that requires the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The Draft EIS was issued and the comment period ended December 11, 2007. The Final EIS is expected July 2008.

Nevada Division of Environmental Protection Air Permit

Toquop Energy Project submitted its air permit application in January 2007. The Draft Air Permit was issued in December 2007 and a public hearing was held February 7, 2008. This hearing was conducted by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection . The project expects to receive its Air Permit by July 2008.
